General   The Freedom Angel's Debut in danbury CT.was wonderfully successful and The 7 foot clay  has been completed.  NEXT The Plan...to take the finished  Angel on a road trip around America. By the time she returns home, she will be as recognized as is the RED CROSS insignia. and the Freedom Angel becomes the new insignia for all returning Veterans.   Her angelimage and logo will be licensed to manufactures who donate to FAF and the dollars will go back to the foundations which are doing outstanding work but need more money!  Do you want her image on your products? General This is a part of a letter which I wrote to Peter Hagen by way of explanation. I hope it will be helpful. Actually this is all Bob Dole's Fault!  He announced on Television that our troops were being short changed.  This was news to me.  I did not know that there was a problem because there are so many foundations across this country which exist to help our Vets.  This news made me mad and then it made me curious.  I called several of the big foundations and across the board, the first words out of their mouths were: We don't have enough money...I asked myself... WHY? I thought about it and observed that no one buys or collects Red Crosses, Wounded Warrior emblems or U.S.O. Banners and figured that there must be a better way for American to become involved...and easier, more effective way to raise the needed dollars....and at the same time, engender patriotism and make every American, even the least among us feel, that they are helping their country and are a vital and needed part of the American team...What is needed is a marketable image....! I am a sculptor, so I started the Freedom Angel Foundation,   a 501(c) 3 corporation,  with a lot of help from a great team of course, as I am strictly a clay pusher and not a busines man.  I thought that I could do my part and decided to build a new national monument, thirty feet high in the form of a bronze angel, to celebrate America and the Men and Women who protect her. Our monument is not a memorial.  Memorials are needed  but they do not give a single penny back to our Vets and their families who are here... alive.... and need out help now!  Soooooo.....If what is needed by our nation's best foundations, which are well established and doing excellent work is, more dollars, then by golly we will get those dollars for them tag:blogs.artspan.com,2011-04-07:10041 2011-04-07T16:48:07-04:00

General AN  ANGEL FOR OUR  SOLDIERS  To be unveiled on Memorial Day in Danbury Connecticut. The freedom Angel Foundation based in Roxbury, CT. introduces the Freedom Angel Sculpture at the Danbury Fair Mall, on Monday, May 30,2011. The Freedom Angel will be on view until June 12,2011 to raise awareness of the many challenges facing our returning Veterans.  The Freedom Angel is a seven-foot clay sculpture which the Foundation passionately believes will become a new national symbol.  A symbol that recognizes the sacrifices which our Men and Women in uniform have so generously made on our behalf.  Visitors to the Mall will have the unique opportunity to observe American Sculptor Sterett-Gittings  Kelsey at work as she refines and finishes the Angel's details.  The Foundation's goal is to create a branded symbol which could be produced in any number of collectible forms or applied to a myriad of products.  Therefore, through the purchase of such products, every American can play a part in making the Freedom Angel their centerpiece for fundraising efforts on behalf of America's Heroes.  Proceeds, in the form of grants will go to established organizations addressing the special medical and social needs of our Veterans.
